The Wild and
Crazy layout:
There is only ONE league! (And baby, this is
IT!!!)
This
league consists of 3 Divisions. (Temporarily 2 Divisions)
These
Divisions consist of 4 teams each, (total of 12 teams). (Temporarily 5 teams @ 10 teams)
Each
team consists of 13 players and 2 defenses (or 12 players and 3 defenses).
Of
each team, the weekly roster will be selected using 7 players and 1 defense.
To sum the layout up:
12
TEAMS at 3 DIVISIONS
Rosters will
consist of the following:
2 QUARTERBACKS
3 RUNNING BACKS
3 PASS RECEIVERS
2 PLACEKICKERS
2 DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
2 SACK MEN
1 BONUS POSITION
Weekly
starting lineups consist of the following:
1 QUARTERBACK
2 RUNNING BACKS
2 PASS RECEIVERS
1 KICKER
1 DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
1 SACK MAN
The Wild and
Crazy Meeting
1.
A preliminary meeting will customarily be held 3 to 4 weeks prior to the draft.
The following are topics of the meeting:
a)
Payment of fees, (fees are due at this time).
b)
Discussion of possible rule amendments.
c)
Discussion of Scoring changes or additions.
d)
Other miscellaneous problems that may have occurred the previous year.
e)
Discussion of whom is the most drunk at the end of the meeting, and bets on
whom will be the most drunk at the draft!
All
who wish to participate and have a voice on decisions that affect the league
are welcome. If you do not attend the meeting, your money still needs to be
paid by this time.
The Wild and
Crazy Draft
(The
following section of selecting the draft order is typically done prior to the
draft date, possibly at the initial meeting).
1.
A random
lottery will be used to determine the order of the draft.
The process
is:
A)
Each team name is initialized in pencil on a piece of currency.
B)
All 12 pieces of currency are identical, (all $1.00 bills, or $5.00 bills,
etc.).
C)
Each piece of currency is folded evenly and equally and put into an opaque
container to insure consistency of each team name to be drawn. This insures
complete fairness of the draw.
D)
Each name will then be drawn by a bystander outside of the league, (if
available), again, to insure complete fairness of the draw.
E)
Each name chosen will choose their team in the order their name is drawn. For
instance, the first team name drawn is the "JAWBREAKERS". This team
will select first, and so on.
2.
The draft will proceed 1-12 in round 1, 12-1 in the second round, and so on for
15 rounds. So the first team that picked a player will also be the last team to
pick.
NOTE: If you leave the draft early without
making all selections, you will not be entitled to select a player until the
first supplemental draft AND you may be sacrificing some of the benefits that
pertain to injured players.
3.
Only 1 minute is allowed for each pick during the first 5 rounds. 2 minutes
will be allowed for each pick thereafter.
4.
Any NFL player that is unsigned (to an NFL team), as of the draft date will not
be allowed to be drafted.
5.
The teams remain fixed until the supplemental drafts, except for IR's, (players
put on injured reserve by
their NFL teams), which will be discussed later.
6.
THE BONUS POSITION - This is an extended pick that will help owners to bolster
their running game, extend their receiving corps, or use as a third string QB
to the teams that may kill off QB's in a single season. Once this position has
been added to the ranks, (for instance, selected as a fourth RB), the team must
remain with the same team format at each position for the first seven weeks of
the season. 1After the eighth week (the second supplemental), a new
Bonus position may be selected. The previous Bonus position must be released.
The Wild and
Crazy Supplemental Draft
1.
2A
supplemental draft will be held after weeks 4, 8, and 12 of play in order to
adjust team personnel.
2.
The team with the worst record will select first. The team with the 2nd worst
record will select second, and so on.
3.
Trades may be made during this time. (Trade options are discussed later)
4. If for any reason you cannot be present for
the supplemental drafts, the league offers two options:
1.
Have a substitute come in your place, or,
2.
Have each pick individually sealed in envelopes, stating which envelope
(player) is first , then second, etc.
5.
If the preceding two processes are not
followed, you will be disqualified
from that supplemental draft. Each team owner really needs to be present if
at all possible, and the league should not have to be responsible for selecting
an owners team personnel. If you have any questions about the understanding of
this rule, feel free to ask the commissioners.
The
Wild and Crazy Rules of Play
1. From the team, the weekly roster will consist of the
following:
1 QUARTERBACK
2 RUNNING BACKS
2 PASS RECEIVERS
1 KICKER
1 DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
1 SACK MAN
1.
Weeks 1-14 will be the standard season.
2.
Weeks 15, 16, and 17 will be used for the play-offs.
3.
The top 7 winning teams will be in the playoffs. The winners will consist of:
3 - Division leaders
3 - 2nd place Division leaders
1 - Wild Card --
Determined by record. If there is a tie, total points will determine the
tiebreaker.
2.
A weekly starting roster must be filled out and turned into the commissioners
by
3.
If a sheet is not turned in, the players selected to start the week before will
be the next week's starters.
NOTE: If you call in Sunday and the answering
machine gives an "after
4.
Sit back and TRY to relax and let your players do their thing. The scores will
be totaled and delivered somewhere in mid-week for all to see.
The IR Rules
Injured
Player(IP):
An
3IP
(injured player) replacement is a player that is not on a WBCWFFL team, not
injured, and is signed by an NFL team. This player replaces only a temporarily
injured player.
You may acquire an IP player if any of
the following are true:
A)
All the players are used up at that position on your FFL team. For instance, if
you have 3 RB's and two are injured, you may select an IP and play the
remaining RB. If you have 4 RB's and two are injured, you must play the two
remaining RB's on your roster;
B)
If your back-up player is not starting with his NFL team and your starter is
injured. (A player must be identified the week before as being turned into a
bench warmer. Otherwise, it must be printed in the USATODAY as being knocked
down to a backup); But If this
non-starting player plays, you MUST use his points.
C)
The back-up player is on a BYE week; or
D)
If there are not enough back-up players to fill the starting weekly roster by
injury or BYE week.
11 E) A player may
be permanently replaced if the player is slated by the USATODAY to be out 4 or
more weeks. (Exception: refer to IR rule
#1)
These
go into effect ONLY if the owner did not pick, for instance, 2 QB's in the same
division that will be on a BYE at the same time. The S.O.L. rule comes into
play here.
This
IP player may be kept up until the supplemental draft time approaches. At this
time, the player must be
relinquished and returned back into the pool of players to be selected during
the supplemental draft. UNCONDITIONAL!
Once
an IP position has been filled by a temp player, the owner cannot replace this
player with another player. The owner must keep his selection until a player
from that position on his team returns.
IR
rules
1)
9During the first 4 weeks until after the first supplemental draft,
the only IR replacement an owner
can make is the owner’s 1st round draft pick. This will be labeled
with a ‘1’ in front of the player’s name. In other words, the teams are locked
except for an injury to the 1st round draft pick; then
2)
An IR
replacement may be obtained at any time, free of charge, and is permanently
kept by that team owner after the first supplemental draft if a player is
slated by the USAToday to be IR.
TRADES/WAIVERS
1.
Teams may trade players, release players, or sign free agents every 4 weeks
after the draft has taken place until after week 12. Each pick will cost $1.00
each. $5.00 is the cap, (Each player cost $1.00 up to five players, but will
cost nothing after five). Transactions (trades), between players will be $1.00
from each owner, (total of $2.00).
NO unsigned
players will be allowed to be traded between owners or picked up from the waive
wire. They must be dropped or maintained on that owner's team
2.
Transactions must be finalized, communicated, and approved by the commissioners
in time for the weekly lineup deadline. NO transactions are final until the
Commissioner's final approval.
3.
All transactions must be completed by the 13th week of play.
TRANSACTION
COSTS
1.
$1.00 per trade up to maximum $5.00.
2.
The money for trades goes to the commissioners.
3.
No charge for signing a free agent for a player placed on injured reserve.
SCORING NOTES:
The
ERIC METCALF RULE - Any special teams score supersedes that of an individual
player. Therefore, if a roster player scores on a special teams play (fake
field goals and Eric Metcalf included), the points are awarded to the special
teams only. This also applies to the 2-point conversion also.
The
DALLAS RULE: You may be allowed to pick up a player if he is signed with an NFL
team and is not seriously injured due to brawling or gunshot wound, is due to
be released on parole during the season, AND if you have the nerve!
5The JERRY RICE RULE: The end of the season is the end of the
14 weeks of our league’s season. If a player is declared “out for the season” by the USATODAY, it stands for the
NFL season. This player cannot be picked up for our playoffs.

Rule Change Reference Page
1 Allowed to
change Bonus position halfway through the season. Originally could not change
Bonus position.
2 Supplemental
drafts were changed from weeks 3, 6, 9, and 12 to weeks 4, 8, and 12.
3 To define the
difference between a (temporarily) injured player and a player put on injured
reserve (IR).
4 This new rule
allows a team to pick up an IR replacement temporarily instead of being forced
to take the player permanently.
5 Jerry Rice was picked up and used for our playoffs when he
should not have been picked. By the time our season ended Rice was still
obtained through IR.
6 An extra $5.00 was added to total fee to pay the division
winners $20.00 each.
7 Point structure for defense added: defenses that limit
offenses to so many points (0-3 and 4-7).
8 Point structure added for extra points to players who
excel.
9 Installed to allow a player injured over a period of 6 or
more weeks to be immediately replaced on a team to allow an equal opportunity
to owners to be more competetive in the short term.
10 Money was shifted to a new all time high of 100 dollars per
season nulling rule change #6.
11 Ruling was
made to offer an alternative to deciding to replace a player at any particular
time.
